PMS/PMDD, cramps, bloating, irregular painful periods, emotional rollercoasters, fibroids, and breast tenderness are NOT NORMAL

Let’s hear about an option other than synthetic hormones and anti-depressants

If you are dealing with heavy, painful, or irregular periods, fibrocystic breasts, swelling, migraines, weight gain, hair loss, mood swings, anxiety, depression, insomnia, low libido, infertility, or acne – likely there is a significant hormonal imbalance.

Our environments today with pesticides and xenoestrogens, stress levels, and poor nutritional diets – have led to an epidemic of hormonal chaos – yet women are told this is normal and the only answer are synthetic hormones that further exacerbate their own hormonal imbalances.

Let’s get to the root of the issue: your environment, foods that are throwing your system out of order, nutrients and vitamins you are missing which your hormones depend on, and a closer look at your hormonal levels.  We also strongly recommend the Gut Restoration package (usually first) to properly address hormonal health.

Your 3 Hormonal Systems Have to Be in Balance Together:
            1. Glucose (Insulin & Glucagon)
            2. Adrenal (Stress & Sex hormones) & Thyroid
            3. Ovarian/Testicular (Estrogen/Progesterone/Testosterone)

Estrogen Dominance:

Estrogen Dominance is found when estrogen is inappropriately high relative to progesterone levels.

Symptoms:

  • Irregular, heavy, or painful periods
  • PMS
  • Mood swings
  • Depression
  • Symptoms of hypothyroidism (reduced cellular uptake despite normal thyroid levels)
  • Swelling/Water retention
  • Breast swelling and/or fibrocystic breasts
  • Headaches/migraines
  • Weight gain
  • Hair loss
  • Reduced libido
  • Sugar cravings
  • Fatigue

Aside of a host of monthly or continuous symptoms, estrogen dominance/progesterone deficiency can also increase the risk of breast cancer, high blood pressure, and fibroids.

This imbalance usually arises from a diet high in sugar and processed carbohydrates, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, low fat diet or imbalanced fat diets, stress, anovulatory cycles (you can have regular periods without ovulating), and toxins/xenoestrogens.

Peri-Menopause:

Most women enter this stage in their 40s with some entering in their 30s.  Most are familiar with menopause, but little attention is paid to this critical prior stage.  We would like you to pay special attention to this period, as this is the time you should correct hormonal imbalances, focus on getting your health optimal, and give special attention to your adrenals.  Your adrenals will be stepping in during menopause and continuing hormonal production at functional but lower levels than your reproductive years.  Whether you choose to consider hormonal replacement therapy or not, your body should be prepared to transition into menopause without the rollercoaster of symptoms women often suffer through.

Tests Often Used:

Labcorp Bloodwork:

If recently extensively tested, we usually do not need to repeat this. For labs that have not been tested, we either apply your insurance when submitting lab orders or for those of you with high deductibles or without insurance, we offer heavily reduced lab rates.

DUTCH:

We use the Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones (DUTCH) in conjunction with bloodwork, and sometimes with salivary cortisol testing to get a comprehensive assessment of sex and adrenal hormones and the metabolic pathways your body is showing preference to.  We are also able to assess melatonin production via urine metabolites.
